"Running for a considerable eight seasons (1958-66), ABC's Donna Reed Show - arguably much more than Leave it to Beaver or Father Knows Best - came to epitomize late 1950s and early 1960s suburban life. Created and shepherded by Reed's then-husband, Tony Owen, it sought to present Donna (playing the character of Donna Stone) as the perfect mother and housewife, a role model who all American women were encouraged to emulate. Season Five contained 34 episodes, and ran from September 1962 through May 1963; all appear in this box set.
