Mississippi Grind

Down-on-his-luck and hopelessly in debt, lifelong gambler Gerry (Ben Mendelsohn) drifts through life in Iowa with little to look forward to. Unexpectedly, he comes across the sharp-dressed and quick witted risk-taker Curtis (Ryan Reynolds), who passes through his quiet home town. The two befriend over drinks and betting, and chart a course to a high-stakes poker game in New Orleans. As their road trip begins, the checkered past of both men threaten to derail their blowout shot at redemption. Impressive directing duo Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden helm this intense character study of addiction and the power of money.
