Faust, Love of the Damned

"Director Brian Yuzna, creator of Bride of Re-Animator and Return of the Living Dead 3, returns with the comic book-based horror movie Faust: Love of the Damned. Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, Faust: Love of the Damned looks very good for a straight-to-DVD title. Colors are generally bright, with black levels solid. Slight amounts of edge enhancement are present in some scenes, but overall the image quality looks very good. Audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and, while not overly impressive, is still a lot of fun. Creepy effects and music are all evenly mixed, with no distortion present. Also included on this disc are English, French, and Spanish subtitles. Faust: Love of the Damned reaches into the depths of its supplemental features and comes up with two commentary tracks, one by director Brian Yuzna and another by actor Andrew Divoff, cinematographer Jacques Haitkin, and special effects team Screaming Mad George. Both commentary tracks tend to be very chatty and informative, with behind-the-scenes information and anecdotes. Also included on this disc are theatrical trailers for Faust: Love of the Damned, The Dentist, The Dentist 2, Return of the Living Dead 3, and Proginey."
