"This star-studded production of Verdi's +Otello has been given a quality release on DVD. Otello has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The opera is performed in Italian, as written, and the disc includes optional English-language subtitles; the audio is in Dolby Digital Stereo. While the disc features no additional bonus material, the improved audio and visual quality of the presentation (as well as easy access to individual passages) will doubtless make this a welcome addition to the libraries of opera buffs."
