Great Composers: Bach

This video is part of a BBC series that profiles great composers. This program presents the story of organist and composer Johann Sebastian Bach, the premier musical figure of the baroque age. Born in Germany in 1685, Bach composed over a thousand works in a variety of musical genres. His versatility is shown in his compositions for instruments from flute to harpsichord, excerpts of which are presented in the video. The show uses letters, diaries, anecdotes, re-enactments, and scholarly commentary to paint a picture of the composer.
