The Wild One

"Acting legend Marlon Brando stars in director L?szl? Benedek's 1953 drama The Wild One. Columbia has done excellent work on this 1.33:1 full frame transfer (the film's original aspect ratio). The black and white colors are all well saturated and crisp with only the slightest amount of grain penetrating the image. While this picture may not be reference quality, overall it's the best the film has ever looked. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 1.0 Mono in English and French and often sounds flat and boring. Any dynamic range and fidelity is sorely lacking, though this is to be expected from a film of such considerable age. All aspects of the mix are happily free and clear of any excessive hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are English and French subtitles. The only extra feature available on this disc is a theatrical trailer for the film, making this DVD edition of The Wild One a nearly bare bones disc."
