Bitter Victory

In this WW II melodrama, an incompetent, cowardly commander vows vengeance upon the heroic officer who has been sleeping with his wife and so plots to kill him. He makes several unsuccessful attempts before the deed is finally done and the real hero is slain. Later he receives a medal for bravery that he didn't earn.
