"This video recording of the New York Metropolitan Opera's 2000 production of Ludwig Von Beethoven's sole operatic work gets a fine presentation for its release on DVD. Fidelio has been given a full-frame transfer to disc at the aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1. The opera is performed in German, with optional subtitles in English, French, Spanish, German and Chinese. As a bonus, this release includes a collection of still photographs and weblinks to related internet sites."
