"Kelly Makin's romantic/mob comedy hybrid Mickey Blue Eyes gets a very nice treatment by Warner Bros. on its DVD release. The viewer has a choice between an anamorphic widescreen 1.85:1 transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio or a standard full-frame 1.33:1 image (the widescreen picture is preferable). A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a director's commentary track, production notes, and a theatrical trailer. Fans of the film will surely love the disc, and the commentary track might be an inducement for the uninitiated."
