Samurai Jack: Season 1 [2 Discs]

"The hit animated show Samurai Jack slices its way to DVD under Cartoon Network's Collector Series banner. Presenting the entire first season on two discs, the set is a class act with fine audio and video presentation and a handful of fun extras that should please any fan of the show. Image quality is stellar, as are the original Dolby Stereo Surround tracks. Extras begin with a commentary track on episode ""VII"" on the first disc, with creator Genndy Tartakovsky and writer/storyboard artist Brian Andrews dissecting the ""Three Blind Mice"" episode. Easily the standout of all the first season's episodes, it's not hard to see why they singled this one out to cover above the others. Talk ranges from the particular style they chose to the hurdles that they needed to jump in making an episode without virtually any dialogue. Bonus material continues on the second disc, where there is a seven-minute making-of featurette, along with the original animation test and an original artwork section that includes various early sketches of the series' characters. With 13 episodes and solid extras that give nice insight on the production, this set is a sure-fire seller that will certainly amaze and delight."
