"The enormously popular detective series Taggart originally aired in Scotland, on that country's STV network (a franchise of Britain's ITV) during the early 1980s. The program follows the ongoing saga of Detective Chief Inspector Jim Taggart (Mark McManus), a mordant, acid-mouthed cop with a bulldoggish exterior, willing to use virtually any techniques at his disposal to solve crimes in the Glaswegian streets. Its combination of grisly violence and byzantine narratives made it an instant favorite of viewers and kept it on the air for decades - in fact, long after the 1994 death of McManus. This set contains the first three episodes of the series.
