The Willie Nelson Special

"This 1984 television special, which stars Willie Nelson performing in his one-time hometown of Austin, TX, with another genre-spanning legend, Ray Charles, onboard as his special guest, gets a strong if unspectacular presentation on DVD. The image has been framed at the original 1.33:1 television aspect ratio, and the sound has been remixed for Dolby Digital 5.1 playback. The soundtrack is, of course, in English, while the disc features no subtitles or closed-captioning. The disc does include a smattering of cast and crew biographies as a bonus, as well as some behind-the-scenes footage. While hardly overloaded with bells and whistles, this is a fairly glossy package for a television special over 15 years old, and the improved audio of the remix will make it a desirable purchase of music fans, the obvious market for this set."
