This book will provide a hands-on overview of the Android Wear SDK, explaining how it works though multiple small sample apps for Android Wear-enabled devices, and then finish with interesting, real-life projects for the reader to build.

Part 1 starts with a brief introduction to wearables, helping readers understand how wearables can connect us to the internet in more pervasive ways than with PCs, tablets or mobile devices. Part 2 shows how to build code using Google's Wear SDK for Android-enabled wearable devices. Part 3 presents several projects built using Android Wear, including your own smart watch using off-the-shelf components.

The chapters will be written in a way that the reader can jump straight into a specific chapter without reading the previous chapters. The book's companion website will include source code for all of the projects described in the book.
