Mystic River [WS]

"Clint Eastwood's multiple-award-winning adaptation of Dennis Lehane's novel Mystic River was released in three different DVD versions simultaneously. This edition offers no extras, but does contain a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The image does a fine job of capturing Tom Stern's dark but subtle framings. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, and both present Eastwood's excellent score in rich detail. As mentioned before, this disc is without any extras whatsoever. Those wishing for a deeper look into the film should pick up the more expensive three-disc set that was released the same day."
