The Hand

"Henry Cass' The Hand (1960) comes to DVD from a source that turns out to be in very decent condition -- after an opening credit sequence that's alarmingly grainy and choppy. The material looks like it's been mastered off of a circulating 16 mm dupe, a little whited out from excessive light being pumped into it, but not to the point of being unwatchable. The audio is also a major surprise, good and loud and clear. The standard half-dozen chapters can support this 65-minute movie adequately. The disc opens automatically on a simple single-layer menu with the ""Play"" option in the default position. There are no extras."
