Lady From Chunking

"Alpha Video's release of William Nigh's Lady From Chungking comes from a somewhat degraded source -- the opening credits are washed out, and parts of the subsequent movie, though it has more contrast, show some distortion resulting from either frame damage or a defective transfer. and it's difficult to determine if the damage seen in the stock-footage sequences devoted to aerial combat and troops is in this print, or was in the original source material from 1943, but it does mar any appreciation one might have or the full-screen (1.33-to-1) image. The sound is no better than the picture, a bit weak throughout in volume and resolution. Otherwise, the usual six-chapter Alpha Video breakdown is followed -- the only notable bonus feature is a set of trailers devoted to recent movies (circa 2000) that Alpha acquired."
