Shadow Laughs

As directed by Arthur Hoerl, this 1933 crime drama begins with a bank teller being pressured by an unsavory criminal to repay massive gambling debts. The cashier attempts to comply by withdrawing $100,000 from the bank's vault, but in the process, the criminal murders the cashier and a bank guard in cold blood, and absconds with the money. A cunning reporter then turns up and vows to ascertain the killer's identity.
