Law of the Rio Grande

Odd that two directors were required for the low-budget western Law of the Rio Grande; there's hardly enough plot for one film. Bob Custer stars as a wandering do-gooder who declares war against a gang of cattle thieves. The villains high-tail it across the Rio Grande and into Mexico, but Custer remains close on their trail. Guess who wins, and guess who loses. Bob Custer may have been a popular western star in the silent era, but his talkie career was sabotaged by bad pictures and his own bad acting. At least Law of the Rio Grande is decently photographed by frequent John Ford collaborator Archie Stout.
