The Malta Story

This WW II era romance tells the tale of love between a daring British pilot and a Maltese girl. In civilian life, the pilot was an archaeologist and while on Malta he is deeply moved by the strength of its people. In order to protect the people and his new love, the flier takes off on risky reconnaissance missions and brings back important information concerning enemy activities. Eventually he sacrifices his life for the cause.
