The Rank Collection: Love Story

In this melodrama, a concert pianist with a dying heart longs for one last romance before she dies. She winds up having an affair with a veteran RAF pilot who is slowly going blind. Neither of them share their afflictions with the other until the pilot's fiancee tells the pianist the truth. She also learns that the fiancee has talked her lover into refusing a dangerous operation that could save him, but probably won't by telling him that she will leave if he goes through with it. He does, and she does too. Fortunately the surgery succeeds and the pianist and the pilot soon fall in love.
