First a Girl

In this gender-bending musical comedy, a dressmaker's delivery girl goes to a local theater to drop off some costumes. While there, she meets a female impersonator with a bad case of laryngitis. Unfortunately, the show must go on so he has her take his place on stage. She is a natural and begins a European tour. At her new manager's request, she continues to impersonate a man. A rich princess and her lover see her performance and simply cannot tell whether she is male or female. To find out, they take her on a yacht trip.
