Rzewski Plays Rzewski: The People United Will Never Be Defeated!

A stalwart of Harvard, Yale and Princeton, acclaimed avant-garde composer Fredric Rzewski trained under numerous legends of 20th century classical composition ranging from Milton Babbitt to Walter Piston. Rzewski's best-known work is probably the 1975 "The People United Will Never Be Defeated! (36 variations on "El pueblo unido jamas sera vencido")", composed for solo piano, which he interprets at the Miami International Piano Festival in this home video release.
