In the performance film Mahler: Symphonies 1 & 8, conductor Klaus Tennstedt leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D Major (1884-88, rev. 1893-96, 1906), and leads the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8 in E-flat Major (1906-07). Each work is performed before a packed concert hall.
