"Cecil B. DeMille's epic-scale screen adaptation of the Old Testament arrives on DVD in all its grandeur in this Special Collector's Edition release. The Ten Commandments has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The original English-language audio has been remixed for playback in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while a dubbed French-language track is in Dolby Digital Mono. The feature also includes optional English-language subtitles. Plenty of bonus materials have been collected for this edition, including a commentary track from Katherine Orrison, author of the book Written in Stone: The Making Cecil B. DeMille's Epic, The Ten Commandments. Other features include a six-part documentary on the making of The Ten Commandments, newsreel footage from the film's premiere, and three coming-attractions trailers (including a 1956 ""in production"" trailer and previews of the 1966 and 1989 reissues)."
