"Paul Newman was nominated for an Academy Award and his co-stars Patricia Neal and Melvyn Douglas took home Oscars for their work in this revisionist Western, which has been given a strong, but simple, presentation for its DVD release. Hud has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in its original widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The original English soundtrack has been remixed for playback in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while original Mono soundtracks are included in English and French. Optional English subtitles have also been included. No bonus materials appear on this edition."
