"This DVD box set collects the nine feature films that have been based on the characters from Star Trek and its sister series Star Trek: The Next Generation: Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock, Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home, Star Trek 5: The Final Frontier, Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, and Star Trek: Insurrection. All nine films have been given letterboxed transfers in their original 1.85:1 aspect ratio, and all offer a choice of two English-language soundtracks (one in Dolby Digital 5.1, the other in Dolby Digital Surround), as well as an additional French-language track in Dolby Digital Surround. All nine films are subtitled in both English and Spanish. Star Trek: The Motion Picture features a wealth of bonus material, including a commentary track featuring director Robert Wise, special effects artists Douglas Trumbull and John Dykstra, composer Jerry Goldsmith, and actor Stephen Collins; an essay from author Michael Okuda; two new behind-the-scenes documentaries; three trailers; eight television spots; a number of bonus and deleted scenes; and highlights from the film's storyboard art. The other eight films are more modest in their bonus material; all feature simply the film's original theatrical trailers, except Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home, which also includes a documentary on director and star Leonard Nimoy, and Star Trek: Insurrection, which adds a featurette on the making of the film."
