"The second half of the first season of Perry Mason looks just as good as its predecessor, and that's saying something -- the makers evidently have pristine source materials going back right to the beginning of the run of the show, and the full-screen (1.33-to-1) images are crisp like they're in high-definition. And the sound is fine, and finely detailed, as well. One heartily wishes that there were xome kind of special material -- a commentary or a retrospective (Erle Stanley Gardner alone, the creator of the character, would rate that, and there was certainly a colorful enough cast). Each disc opens to a simple, easy to use menu that offers direct access to individual episodes."
