Eager to prove his responsibility and trustworthiness, Sonic (Ben Schwartz) convinces Maddie (Tika Sumpter) and Tom (James Marsden) to leave him home unattended while they venture on a couple's vacation. Yet things quickly go awry with the unexpected return of the sinister Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his new ally, Knuckles (Idris Elba), who seek out a powerful crystal capable of destroying the world. It is then up to Sonic and Tails (Colleen O'Shaughnessey) to thwart Dr. Robotnik's schemes before time runs out. Jeff Fowler directs the sequel to the 2020 action film.
