An afflicted Melbourne cop whose ears won't stop ringing and whose life is locked in a downward spiral attempts to balance the pressure of his job with his disconcerting case of tinnitus in director Matthew Seville's grim psychological drama. Graham McGahan (Brendan Cowell) is an Aussie cop who's on the beat in a secretive suburban community. When a pair of gruesome crimes shakes a quiet middle class community and the residents refuse to assist the police investigation due to fear and mistrust, it begins to appear as if someone has gotten away with murder. Soon after applying for worker's compensation due to his maddening case of tinnitus, Constable McGahan reluctantly accepts his new post at a police caravan on the periphery of the crime scene. It is here, at the outer edge of a crucial investigation, that the suffocating grip of guilt and suspicion begins to take its toll on the policemen who realizes precisely how such heinous crimes can devastate an entire community.
