Thrill Seekers

Tabloid newspaper reporter Tom Merrick (Casper Van Dien) spots a remarkable coincidence: in each of three vintage photographs from historic disasters, the same face appears in the panicked crowds. How could it be possible that it's the same man? His far-fetched conclusion is that thrill-seeking "tourists" from the future are paying to be transported back in time to take part in catastrophic disasters, only to be beamed out of the wreckage before they are killed. Having enough clues to figure out the next disaster to be visited, Merrick discovers it's an arena fire that kills 11,000 sports fans -- including his son. With the help of his assistant Elizabeth (Catherine Bell), Merrick averts the disaster, causing the future to be altered -- and time-travel profits to be diminished. That cheeses off time-travel mogul Grifasi (Martin Sheen), who dispatches a team of assassins from the future (Theresa Saldana and Peter Outerbridge) to stop Merrick -- permanently. Meanwhile, the FBI thinks Merrick is behind the disasters and also tries to catch him.
