"Adness has produced another solid choice for the Sonny Chiba fan with this DVD of Karate Bear Fighter. The transfer is letterboxed with anamorphic enhancement and offers a gorgeous, skillfully remastered image that is sharp in detail and rich with color. The audio portion of the disc utilizes the original Japanese mono soundtrack, with English subtitles. It delivers a clear, distortion-free sound and the subtitles are easy to read. In terms of extras, there is a gallery of trailers for Karate Bear Fighter and other Sonny Chiba films and a witty, informative set of liner notes by Japanese film expert Patrick Macias. It would have been nice to have more extras, but this disc is solid deal nonetheless, especially considering its reasonable price. All in all, this disc of Karate Bear Fighter is worth the time and money for anyone with a serious interest in the Sonny Chiba filmography."
