Case of the Bloody Iris

Italian filmmaker Giuliano Carmineo (under the pseudonym "Anthony Ascott") directed this above-average giallo thriller about murders in a high-rise apartment complex. Jennifer (Edwige Fenech) moves into the flat where a dancer was drowned and is soon stalked by the unknown killer. Carmineo populates the building with likely suspects, including Jennifer's new boyfriend (George Hilton), a lesbian (Annabella Incontrera) who lives next door with her father (Jorge Rigaud), and a creepy old woman (Carla Mancini) with a deformed son. Rich in atmosphere and well-photographed by Stelvio Massi, this is one of the few gialli of the time which is as good at mystery as it is at sleaze.
