In the economic boom after World War I, everyone though the Roaring Twenties would keep roaring along right into the 1930s. But the crash of the stock market on October 29, 1929 would mark the beginning of the worldwide Great Depression. Out of work, out of money, and for many, out of a home, people did what they could to keep their families going until Roosevelt's New Deal got the economy going again.
