Letters from My Windmill

French Director Marcel Pagnol has adapted three of the stories of the nineteenth century Gallic writer Alphonse Daudet for this interesting short story showplace. Crouzet plays a writer who seeks solitude to write. He goes to an old windmill (hence the title) in Provence to write and that is the thread that holds the three disparate stories together: "The Three Low Masses," "The Elixir of Father Gaucher," and "The Secret of Master Cornille."
