"One of the most controversial Japanese horror films of the 1980s gets a well-crafted translation to disc for this North American DVD release. Shojo no Harawata (aka Entrails of a Virgin) has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Mono; the dialogue is in the original Japanese, with optional English-language subtitles. Bonus materials include an interview with the film's director, Gaira, an essay on the use of fogging in Japanese films, and the original theatrical trailer."
