Prisoner of Love

"Sterling has done a fine good job with the DVD of Prisoner of Love, giving it a picture that is clear and clean. The image is framed at an aspect ratio of 1.85:1, but is not anamorphic. Regardless, the picture quality suffers little, with only a few brief moments of shimmering. At times the picture does seem a little soft, but for the majority of the film, the image holds up very well. This disc has a four-channel surround soundtrack. Viewers of this disc, if using Dolby Digital, need to turn off the digital tuner and change it to Dolby Pro-Logic to get anything beyond a two-channel track. The sound on this disc is good, but certainly not what it could have been. As always, this disc only has Spanish subtitles. As for extras, along with the standard, but always appreciated biographies and filmographies, the disc has a wonderful commentary from writer/producer Lauren McLaughlin. She has interesting insight into the production of a smaller film and really seems to enjoy sharing this information. The disc is rounded off with a trailer."
