"This disc contains the first two parts of Shoji Kawamori's anime series Macross. The DVD offers a standard full-frame transfer that preserves the original aspect ratio of 1.33:1. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, but purists may prefer to cue up the Japanese Dolby Digital Stereo soundtrack and utilize the English subtitles. Supplemental materials include trailers, and a still photo gallery. This is a great release for genre enthusiasts."
