Kiss Daddy Goodbye

"This admirably odd little horror film -- which features an intriguing cast and a truly bizarre premise -- gets an upgraded presentation on DVD in this edition from SRS Cinema. Kiss Daddy Goodbye has been given a letterboxed, non-anamorphic transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1:78:1; the transfer appears to have been taken from a video source (it opens with a ""Monterey Home Video"" logo) and the image is a bit soft, but the color balance is accurate and the source materials are fairly clean if not spotless. The audio has been mastered in PCM Stereo, and sounds good if not quite exceptional. The film's dialogue is in English, with no optional subtitles or multiple language options. Bonus features on this release include an optional commentary track featuring director Patrick Regan and producer Alain Silver, as well as a short gallery of production photos. Kiss Daddy Goodbye doesn't look great on this DVD, but it looks good enough for most genre fans, and the commentary offers some welcome background on this overlooked oddity."
