Belle took a long, lingering, breath as she walked out of the chapel into the fresh air.
Was it the sad music, the thought of not seeing her mum anymore, or just the suffocating smell of the lilies that had taken her breath away?
Feeling empty with so many unanswered questions bouncing around in her mind, she wondered why her mum had rejected her.
Why had she left her two diaries? She had never given her anything before, so why now?
Whose diaries were they anyway? Did she care?
A storm was brewing. Rain was in the air, she could smell it.
Out the corner of her eye, she caught sight of him hiding in the shadows, watching.
Pulling up the collar of her coat, she quickly made her way to the black limousine.
