Ivan's Childhood [Criterion Collection] [Blu-ray]

Young Ivan is orphaned by the death of his mother at the hands of the Nazis. A friendly Russian Army captain takes the boy under his wing and offers to send the boy to school, but the memory of his beloved mother causes him to run away from the school. Returning to the Army camp, he resumes his spy activities on the invading Germans to help his country's cause. Also in the film, a love struck captain can't keep his mind or his eyes off a beautiful medical student.
