Monsieur Verdoux [Criterion Collection]

In this controversial "comedy of murders," Charlie Chaplin stars as Verdoux, a mild-mannered family man of pre-war France. Verdoux has made a career out of marrying foolish, wealthy women and murdering them for the insurance money. He does this thirteen times with success, but wife #14 proves impossible to kill.
