Purple State of Mind

Two old friends who long to understand each other yet refuse to compromise their core beliefs discover a new way of communicating while engaging in a conversation about sex, death, the meaning of life, and religion in this documentary that refuses to be as simple as red and blue. Thirty five years ago, Craig Detweiler and John Marks became roommates at Davidson College. At the time of their first meeting, both were devout Christians. But just as Craig was coming into the faith, John was losing his religion. After graduation, the two parted ways. Upon meeting again years later, Craig and John both remained silent about their contentious past - until today. Now, as the two former college roommates sit down for an intimate conversation about the very things that divide our nation in half, the talk quickly evolves from the evolution of friendships and relationships to such weighty issues as religion and politics. Make no mistake though, this isn't an argument about who's right and who's wrong, but an entirely new way of talking where everyone's beliefs are equally valid, and respected.
