"The seven-part documentary series The RAF at War examines the shifting roles, responsibilities, capabilities and accomplishments of the British Royal Air Force, over the course of roughly 100 years. Subtitled 1940-1960, this box set contains two of the seven installments (Episode 3 and Episode 4) that study what was arguably the RAF's most critical historical period - the Second World War of the 1940s, when it succeeded at fending off Hitler's Luftwaffe fleets, followed within 10 years by the Cold War, when the RAF provided nuclear deterrent and helped defend Europe. In this set, Episode 3, Fighter Command: A Vicious Sting, discusses the evolution of various fighters from WWII biplanes, Hurricanes and Spitfighters through the ""air superiority"" crafts of the 1950s and '60s.
