National Geographic follows mountaineers Peter Athans and Broughton Coburn through the remote Himalayan kingdom of Mustang and deep inside its caves, the walls of which depict ancient Buddhist and Tibetan murals, suggesting that the caves may have once been a religious gathering place, and perhaps even the inspiration for the myth of Shangri-la.
