The Bible is God's way of communicating Himself to fallen humanity; and God is Love. Therefore, the Bible is actually all about Love...God's Love...Agape. And this book is about reaching people with that great truth in a practical, understandable, no nonsense way.
A study of this profound subject will open the eyes of your understanding:
You will begin to see the Love of God, in action, in some amazing situations and circumstances. This will encourage you in a walk with God, Who Loves you: application of God's Word, where you will discover Agape's power in every detail of life.
We have many questions:
What is my purpose in life? Why does God do that? Why doesn't He do this? What is sin? Why does God hate sin? Is there really a Heaven; what will it be like? a hell; what will that be like? Who will go there? Why? Why not? Why should I go to Church? Where should I go to Church? etc., etc. And no book can answer all our questions; not even the Bible. But the key to getting good answers is to see them in the light of God's Love; because that's what life is all really about...God Loving.
We desperately need to get this right, and, unfortunately there is precious little attempt made to instruct in this subject, which is as vital to our spiritual existence as water is to our physical existence.
Agape -- God's Persona, is the first volume of a planned series. The next volumes will be, Agape -- Victorious Love; Agape -- Liberating Love; Agape -- Evil's Nemesis; and Agape -- The Soul's Beloved.
Agape is written as a sequel to "The Book Of Love", which covers much of the same subject material, but on a level that deals less with questions and more with practical application. In the process of laying Agape out for a manuscript I soon discovered that one book was not going to be adequate unless it was huge beyond what anyone would pick up and casually read. A 'novel', Agape is not. A down-to-earth understanding of what God's Love is all about, and how important that is to you and me, Agape definitely is.
Agape makes a deliberate effort to use Scripture and Doctrinal Categories; thus there is a comprehensive reference list at the end of each Chapter. The reader is encouraged to use it.
