Black Scorpion

"Justice has a nasty sting in the action film Black Scorpion. New Concorde's work on this 1.33:1 full-frame transfer is decent save for some obvious defects normally associated with full-frame images. While a small amount of softness creeps into the picture, overall the colors and black levels appear favorably bright and solid. While this isn't a great transfer, it does work well for the film it's supporting. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround in English and is nothing special. While there is some dynamic range in the front speakers, overall this is a mediocre sound mix that features only a slight amount of distortion in the mix. No alternate soundtracks or subtitles are included on this disc. The extra features on this disc are plentiful but fluffy -- included on this DVD is a redundant commentary track by star Joan Severance that contains a fair amount of boring production information, a video interview with the actress rehashing what was discussed on the commentary track, a few scant cast biographies, and some previews for other New Concorde releases."
