The Last Resort

This documentary film directed by Dennis Scholl and Kareem Tabsch chronicles the lives of American photographers Gary Monroe and Andy Sweet who lived amongst the eclectic and colorful Jewish community of retirees in Miami Beach in the 1970s. Monroe and Sweet spent 10-years shooting images of this unique community and witnessed the change from a sun drenched utopia to a city increasingly filled with drugs and crime. The film also features interviews with people of the era including those who knew the photographers.
