Hester Street [Blu-ray]

This black-and-white film is set in turn-of-the-century New York. Jewish immigrant Jake is awaiting the arrival of his wife Gitl and their child from Europe. Gitl arrives, only to discover that Jake has financed her trip by borrowing money from a local lady with whom he's fallen in love.
