Medea [Blu-ray]

Medea (Maria Callas) is the high priestess of human sacrifices and the daughter of the king. She is in love with Jason (Giuseppe Gentili), the adventurer who searches for the golden fleece. When the two steal the gold, they make their escape only when Medea sacrifices her own brother. Chopped into pieces, the soldiers are bound by tradition to bury the dismembered corpse. Medea and Jason are married and have two daughters, but life in Corinth does not appeal to her. When Jason wishes to marry a princess after ten years of marriage, Medea kills her own daughters with a dagger. She conjures up a wall of flames when Jason tries to claim the bodies in this ancient Greek tragedy from Euripedes.
