As exciting as it is to have a new baby in the family, most older siblings have mixed feelings about the changes a small brother or sister may bring into their lives. This video, designed for two to seven-year-olds, helps children who were once "the baby" understand and manage their feelings of insecurity, anger, and loneliness when part of their parents' love and attention is turned to someone else. Children are encouraged to talk about their feelings to parents and friends, and adults are encouraged to acknowedge these and spend special time with older children (so they don't have to worry that "sharing" their parents might mean losing them). Featuring live-action scenes of children playing with and taking care of babies and toddlers, the program offers helpful tips on how to interact -- so children can see that having a younger sibling can often be fun and satisfying, and that their contribution as a "helper" and capable person will be appreciated, both by the parents and the baby. Amusing activities, songs, and games are provided, accompanied by a foldout booklet.
